Overview
Structural analysis, design and detailing
Lunia is a single desktop application for building structures. You model the building, analyse it in three dimensions, design the concrete and steel to your code, and take detailed reinforcement drawings and calculation sheets out the other side.
One model, one file. Nothing is rebuilt at a boundary between programs.
That last step is a drawing editor, not an export button. Inside Lunia there is a full draughting environment — layers, paper space, snaps and grips, a command line, the whole dimension family, hatching and plotting. So when the detail comes off the model you finish it where you are: nudge a callout, trim a line, set your own title block, plot the sheet. The drawings you issue are the drawings the software made. Nothing is exported half-finished for somebody to redraw in another program.
The reason that holds up on site is that the detailing rules are written down as rules rather than carried as habits. Containment and spacing requirements are usually stated in more than one place, and it is easy to implement the obvious half and miss the rest — the result passes its check and still reaches the contractor as a cage no engineer would have drawn. Lunia applies them together.
Then it asks a second question the code does not: would a detailer actually issue this? An arrangement can satisfy every requirement and still land off-centre on a symmetric section. It is legal, and it reads as a mistake. So the software squares it up. That judgement — what is correct against what is issuable — is the part that usually lives in someone's head, and it is the part we have tried hardest to put in the program.
System requirements
| Operating system | Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit |
|---|---|
| Processor | Quad-core or better. The solver uses multiple cores. |
| Memory | 8 GB minimum, 16 GB recommended. Large models benefit from more. |
| Graphics | A GPU supporting OpenGL 3.3 or later |
| Disk | 2 GB for the application. Project files with saved results can be large. |
